Improving access to doctors, diagnoses and dialogues about health
The Lesedi Medical Fund is part of Mmila Mela's ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive support to our local communities. Although healthcare in Botswana is free, rural communities do not have equal access to these services. We believe you should not have to choose between your home or your health.
Through regular outreach clinics and educational workshops, the Lesedi Medical Fund plans to bridge this gap. Read more below about our long term plans, and how you can support this vital work to make healthcare accessible.
Preventable Illness
Many people suffer from preventable and treatable illnesses. Through regular outreach clinics we will improve access to quality healthcare providers and tests to expedite diagnoses.
Health Education
We hope to improve health and wellness education through workshops in Maun and surrounding communities to help individuals advocate and care for themselves and their loved ones.
Diagnosis & Referrals
We will sponsor further consults and tests through Maun Private Hospital and assist with referral to public hospitals with diagnoses and treatment advice to ensure individuals get the correct help.
